Gospel Reflection - Cycle A - 7th Sunday of Easter

My weekly reflection on the Sunday Gospel reading. In this video, I reflect on John 17:1-11A, the Gospel reading for the 7th Sunday of Easter in Cycle A, exploring the following topics:

- God enters our human reality and accepts crucifixion for our salvation
- The glorification of Christ comes after the crucifixion. After enduring the suffering, he returns to his divine glory.
- God descends to our level in order to raise us to his level.
- We share in the glory of Christ. The eternal life we receive glorifies the Father.
- Eternal life vs existence.
- Christ is the only source of eternal life.
- In the Gospel of John, the word "world" stands for all that is fallen in creation.
- Since Pentecost, the Church has been the visible presence of Christ upon the earth.
- The Church is sent into the world to transform it.
- The transformation of the world is our mission.
